Bellamy Young was born Amy Maria Young in February 1970. 1. She is an American performer, actress also known as producer, actor, and singer famous for her role as Melody "Mellie," Grant in ABC's Scandal in 2012-2017. She was the recipient of her 2014 Critics'' Choice Television award for the most outstanding supporting actress in an action series. Also, she was a star in Fox's Prodigal Son (1919-2021). Young began her acting career with theatre. Her Broadway debut came in 1997 as Mary in The Life. [8][9] She has also played off Broadway in Stephen Sondheim's Musical Merrily We're Rolling Along (1994) as well as in Randy Newman's Faust (1995-1996). The first time she appeared on TV in the year 1995 as Dr. Courtney Evans, in a recurring part on the NBC soap series Another World. In 1997 and 1998 she was a guest on two episodes on Law & Order. Her debut film came in 1999 when she played part in"Black and White," a crime drama. Later, she appeared in other independent movies. Young began appearing on assortment of television dramas as well as comedies during the decade of 2000. They were among them The Drew Carey Show and The X Files. Young is known to have made over 30 appearances on TV series from 2000 to 2011.
